Brothers, Oscar and Diego Leal of Chihuahua Transmission in Grand Prairie, Texas, are passionate about quality automotive care and providing an exceptional customer service experience. From the age of 8 & 9, Oscar and Diego spent all their after-school hours, weekends, and school holidays working with their stepfather, Martin Marquez, in the families transmission shop. Auto repair, specifically transmission repair, to this day is a way of life for both of them; it runs in their blood.

Martin Marquez proudly opened the doors of Chihuahua Transmission in Chihuahua, Mexico, in 2003 and soon after brought his family and business to Irving, in Dallas County, Texas., working out of a shop he shared with his cousin, rebuilding transmissions. Martin was a great stepdad who was easygoing and enjoyed spending time with his kids teaching them how to repair cars and doing everything from working with customers, to diagnosing vehicle issues, fixing the cars, cleaning them, and handling the paperwork as a one-man band. Bringing his boys into the shop was a great help to Martin and provided the opportunity to pass along his knowledge of auto repair. Martin discovered each of Oscar and Diego’s individual strengths and worked to develop and expand their skills, openly sharing his knowledge and supporting their training within the automotive repair and transmission industry.

By the age of 12, Oscar, the oldest son, was deeply immersed in learning the ways of the auto repair industry and the inner workings of the family business, spending his free time translating for his dad, helping customers, and working in the shop. With an uncanny ability to diagnose transmissions and a passion for breaking the stigma in the auto repair industry, his focus is on providing quality repairs and consistent, transparent communication with every customer that walks through the door at Chihuahua Transmission, located in the West Dallas suburb in Grand Prairie, Texas. With so many years of experience already under his belt, Oscar is a natural working in the front end of Chihuahua Transmission.

Diego, just a couple of years Oscar’s junior, also spent his free time outside of school in the transmission shop, learning how to remove and replace transmissions with his stepdad guiding him. The more time Diego spent in the shop, the more Martin noticed his natural ability and love of puzzles; Diego loved to take things apart and put them back together! With all of his hands-on shop experience, Diego deeply enjoyed his training at Universal Technical Institute, UTI, graduating in 2014, and took this knowledge back to Dallas and the shop at Chihuahua Transmission in Grand Prairie, Tx.
